VPR/VPR-A Thesis Award 2026

Award Ceremony: Thursday, October 29th Leiden

The Association for Privacy Law (VPR) and the Association of Privacy Lawyers (VPR-A) aim to promote high-quality legal research in the field of privacy and data protection law. In this context, the VPR and VPR-A present an annual thesis award.

The winner is selected from three theses nominated by the jury. The winner of the VPR/VPR-A Thesis Award receives a prize of €2,500. The two other nominees will each receive an amount of €500.

Who is eligible for the thesis award? Anyone who has written a graduation or Master’s thesis in the field of privacy and data protection law between July 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026, which has been graded 8 (out of 10) or higher, is eligible to compete for the prize. English or Dutch-language theses may be submitted. To enter, students must submit a summary of their thesis before October 1, 2026.

Award Ceremony The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 29th, at Scheltema in Leiden.
